VMG Beacon Reports etc.
Thanks for setup of the SK6VHF beacon. I am a passionated 2m lover and monitor the beacon quite regular here in northern PA. The distance is 626 km and I can see it often on Spectran and hear it time to time when condx are normal. This off course with qsb. I know Tjorn because I 've been there and made /P operation on 2m about 20 years ago and it has a fine take off. But I also remember the big qrm we were having there from some commercial signal. Can you tell me the Antenna and power output of SK6VHF on 144.448 ?? For me it is easy to detect because it's signal is a little bit wobbling (abt 10 20 Hz variation) so a nice help in detecting it between the birdies ;-) I repaired my antenna system a few days ago and checked in on SK6VHF. Tropo condx were a little enhanced and I recorded the beacon. ( Playback is best with Spectran at www.weaksignals.com because you also can see the waterfall display). It is a good copy as you can see and also can be seen on the jpg what the condx were that particular day. This morning I checked again and can see it again, but with qsb and weaker. My setup is 4x9 DK7ZB with lna in shack, but ants are not that high and partially looking into the roofs.
